018; The Getty and Urgent Care. Good times.

My, my, what a long day.

Spent most of last evening writhing in pain. Sleep was no friend of mine until I drugged myself numb, and even then, I only got about four hours. Was up at 8:00am in order to leave at 9:00am for our trip to The Getty Center in Los Angeles. Stopped off first for lunch at Lawry's Prime Rib restaurant in Beverly Hills, only after driving around and looking at all of the places we'd never go (Did you know that there are actually streets in Beverly Hills that are so exclusive and expensive to live on that you can actually get a ticket if you just get caught driving down one and you don't live there? So hot.)

Goofed off quite a bit, so we didn't get to the Getty until around noon-thirty, but four hours there is quite enough. It's not like its The Huntington Library or anything. The Getty is nicely self-contained. We set off immediately and arted ourselves sick.

Gold Laurel WreathThere were Italian Renaissance religious icons and alter set-ups, French Rococo furniture, English Renaissance tapestries and portraits, religious reliefs from all time periods, statues, tiles, mosaics... from the oldest thing I saw there (A Greek gold laurel wreath from anywhere between 300 and 800 BC) to the most current exhibit (Being a large collection of photographs called 'Scene of the Crime by Weegee, which are just absolutely brilliant, chilling and inticing); they shoved it all into four buildings. The grounds are also very impressive, but due to the fact that I was dying of a whining about my wicked infection, I didn't really have the stamina to walk them, but I did get some rather nice photos from the balconies.

Jesse and I had some lovely cookies and drinks (He had a mocha and I had a hot chocolate), which was a big mistake for me. The sugar hit me in the wrong way, just as my meds were wearing off. I practically started crying, waiting in the line for the tram to take us back down to the parking structure, I was hit with such sudden intense and uncomfortable pain. I slept almost all the way home, just to avoid the crappiness I felt, and as soon as we got home, I sent Jesse off and grabbed my mommy and made her take me to urgent care.

Sat in urgent care from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The doctor (Whose last name is Biscotti, so I just ended up wanting even more hot chocolate) amused me after my urinalysis: "Hm. There's some really wacky stuff going on in your urine." Oo, like a party? So he dropped me a prescription (Finally! Drugs that work!) of 500mg of Ciprofloxacin, twice a day for ten days. Now I have to remember stuff. Drat and blast.

It is now midnight and my day has been long and full of paint and pain (I feel like a real artist now!), so I am going to go to bed. Won't likely sleep, though, blasted insomnia.
